Wow, I have about half a year of catching up to do on here! I’m very sorry about the unannounced hiatus. Don’t worry, I’m still alive. To make it up to you, here are a bunch of snapshots of life in Vancouver from the second half of 2025.

sofar sounds

I love live music, and one way to experience it in my city (or in any city for that matter) is to go to Sofar Sounds shows. I’ve been to 10 of them so far (ha) and still can’t get enough. These shows always take me to such interesting places–I’ve listened to local artists from a clothing store, a gym, a winery, a recording studio, a co-working space, a brewery… Here’s a pic from a show on the patio of the Maritime Museum, and one from a birthday party venue in Gastown.

Hikes

Unfortunately, a planned overnight hut hike got cancelled due to a mix of bad weather and maintenance, so hopefully I get to make up for the lost adventure next summer. Nevertheless, several hikes around Vancouver kept me entertained. Here’s a few for you!

flower picking

I went to the Five Acres Flower Farm in Abbotsford with the girls to enjoy a flower workshop. This was my second time there–the tradition has become to have brunch in Fort Langley (we love 🍴 Saba Bistro) and then drive on to the flower farm for a floral afternoon.

They give you about 3 hours to roam around, cut any (literally ANY) flowers you like and assemble everything in whatever way you want. Big, small, bright or subtle, it’s really entirely up to you. This year, I ended up feeling inspired by Anienke’s outfit, and she went for a yellow theme based on my top as well, ha! I can’t wait to go again! 💐

arena time

I’ve been spending more time at the Rogers Arena, because I started working part time for the venue. I’m having a nice time helping out at concerts, hockey, and lacrosse events.

Here’s a pic from the Shawn Mendes concert (which I was attending, not working)–this was my second time seeing him live and it was just as impressive as the first time I went in Amsterdam.

other shenanigans

What else? My time here is spent being outside as much as possible: walking, running, strolling the seawall. Nice weather means grabbing opportunities to do picnics or barbecues. Once it got more chilly and wet, activities just moved indoors more. This all might sound like all I do is hop from activity to activity but hey, please know that I do work full time 😊

There you go, that was a quick summary for you! I flew back to the Netherlands to spend Christmas and New Years with family, and have been away from Vancouver for long enough. I’m looking forward to more Vancouver adventures in 2026 to share with you here! 😊
